There are several people who have many doubts regarding the effectiveness of the stun guns. They give the argument that the usage of the stun gun is not needed when one can just get a real gun and use that instead. But there are others still who give the arguments that the usage of the real guns can result in kill the person it is used against and can cause serious permanent damage. The stun devices are non lethal—they do not cause permanent damage. Nowadays we see that there is an increase in the popularity of the stun guns amongst not only several law enforcement agencies but also amongst the private companies and individuals. I will be honest. I am a person who makes his living by selling non-lethal self defense items but while I do so there is a part of me that is steadfast in my conviction that all senior citizens, especially the ones who live by themselves should most certainly carry a stun gun. If you think that it is perfectly okay to drive a thousand kilograms hunk of steel at a speed of 60 miles an hour legally then why the hell is it a problem to carry a non-lethal device for the purpose of self protection? Just think about it.
True that stun guns are non lethal but there have been some cases of fatalities in the history of stun guns. It would not be tagged as an effective tool of self defense now would it be if it were to come minus an inherent danger level. But if I were faced with the choice between my old mother and probably some thug who is trying to harm her, my choice would be very clear and so would yours!
